Paths and corners to discover

Sources of the Llobregat

Once you've visited the village, you can visit the Fuentes del Llobregat, the source of one of Catalonia's most important rivers. You can get there by car, although it's advisable to walk along the marked path that leads out of the village, where you'll find information about the area's vegetation and fauna.

Oil Mine (La Pobla de Lillet)

3 minutes from the El Espelt campsite on foot.

You can also walk from the campsite, along the lower part, where you have to open a fence and cross the river stones to reach the path. Turn right and in 15 minutes you'll reach the mine gates. Admission costs €4, with a guide providing explanations. It's very interesting to discover that we're mistaken about the way oil is found and extracted.

Welcome to the Alt Llobregat Tourist Railway

This is a line that historically connected the old Asland cement factory in Castellar de n'Hug with Guardiola de Berguedà, from where the narrow-gauge railway line to Berga and Manresa started.

The old Cement Train has a 3.5 km route and has 4 stations: La Pobla de Lillet, Pueblo Centro, Jardines Artigas and the Cement Museum-Castellar de n'Hug.

The journey takes approximately 20 minutes and is carried out by a diesel locomotive with four carriages that can carry 25 passengers each.

Artigas Gardens

At the beginning of the 20th century, the owner of the Artigas factory commissioned Antoni Gaudí to design a naturalistic garden, where stones, water, and vegetation would be the protagonists. Built on both banks of the river, several bridges span from one side to the other. The garden was conceived with the same naturalistic approach as Park Güell, but with the radical difference of abundant water.

Routes to discover the Cadí-Moixeró

Route from Guardiola to the Riutort Petroli Mine

This excursion departs from Guardiola de Berguedà and leads to the historic Petroli de Riutort Mine, one of the region's most unique heritage treasures. The route combines trails along the Llobregat River with a beautiful natural setting, ideal for enjoying a peaceful mountain walk.

The mine, now open to visitors, allows you to discover how oil was extracted using traditional methods at the end of the 19th century. A route that combines nature, history, and culture, perfect for enjoying with family or friends during your stay at Camping L'Espelt.

Nicolau Route: a walk between history and nature

The Nicolau Trail is one of the most popular routes near Bagà, in the heart of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. It's an old forest path that has been restored as a trail for hikers and cyclists, with wooden walkways, suspension bridges, and tunnels that make for a unique experience.

Along the easy, family-friendly trail, you'll enjoy spectacular views of the Bastareny River valley and the mountainous surroundings of Berguedà. It's a perfect excursion combining nature, history, and adventure just minutes from Camping L'Espelt.

Route to the Bullidor de la Llet

The Bullidor de la Llet is one of the most magical spots in Bagà. It's a spring hidden in the forest, where the water gushes forth powerfully, creating a unique natural spectacle that, during rainy or thawing seasons, appears to "boil like milk," hence its name.

The route to Bullidor de la Llet is short and easy, making it an ideal family hike. The trail passes through cool forests and offers the opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains very close to Camping L'Espelt.

Ascension to the Penyes Altes del Moixeró

The Penyes Altes del Moixeró, at 2,276 meters above sea level, are the most emblematic peak of the Sierra del Moixeró and one of the most impressive natural viewpoints in the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. From their summit, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Berguedà, Cerdanya, and much of the Catalan Pyrenees.

The route to the summit is demanding and designed for hikers in good physical condition, as it combines elevation gains and mountainous sections. However, the effort is amply rewarded by the views and the feeling of being at the top of one of the most iconic mountains in the area.

An essential challenge for lovers of hiking and the most authentic nature, just a few kilometers from Camping L'Espelt .
